It Does Not Follow...
Hi Athol, I voted with you :-). And I did read your external blog post. No particular issues except one. It doesn't have to be true that people who think that Passover seders are sinful are anti-Semitic and blinded by prejudice. They may be. But they may also simply have an ill-formed or incomplete ...

Jewish Faith, Medical Issues, Etc.
Hello All, There is a case ongoing here in the US which has caught my attention. An Orthodox Jewish boy was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor, underwent care and eventual surgery at a Washington, DC hospital, but never regained consciousness. He was pronounced dead by the doctors there on Tue...

I heard Rosalind Moss speak recently of the Blessed Mother as espoused to the Holy Spirit, which I thought was just a beautiful way of thinking of this. Apparent, once pointed out, but really lovely. She gave a short exposition from Scripture, which spoke to perpetual virginity. I can't find my note...

I also see that the authority of the Rabbis and Judaism will be enhanced once the veil is lifted and they as a collective enter formally the Kingdom of the Redemption by embacing Yeshuah and the Church. However the Church will have to change and adapt just as Judaism will have to change and adapt. ...

Re: Whose Authority
Just as one who wishes to be a Franciscan accepts the authority of St Francis and his teachings for living out the Franciscan lifestyle and vocation while at the same time accepting the authority of the Magisterium of Peter's Chair. The Catholic Jew accepts as do all Jews that the Messiah is the ul...

I speak not of the political priestly and aristocratic Sanhedrin but the Rabbinic Sanhedrin. Presently in Israel there is a new Sanhedrin that does not carry full authority as the Sanhedrin but is seen as a preparatory Sanhedrin. We haven't heard from you in a while. I hope that travel is going (or...

St.Paul in his benevolence ruled that the Gospel (the good news in Greek, the message of Christ) is meant to all humanity and not only for the Jews. Well, this was not a decision of St. Paul. This was part of God's plan, alluded to in the Old Testament, and articulated and manifested by Jesus Himse...

But if its a dialouge you seek, i think you should study - and i bet you know this on some levels - the attitude of most Jews towards Christianity. How would focusing on the negative attitudes of some (or even many, perhaps) be productive? I would be interested to know where people have misconcepti...

i really dont understand why you love the Jewish people so much while most Jewish, secular and religious alike, either despise Christianity or sees it as a pagan religion simply because they lack the knowledge and the will to truely understand church dogmas. Hi Thoma, To speak in general terms (not...

Very nice to "meet" you. I do have one question for you. Since you are not Jewish (neither am I), what is it, do you think, that draws you to this love and interest?
In Christ,
Hadassah

But perhaps I have strayed far from the original question? I don't know if we can realistically expect to define through these artificial terms some abstract form of Israelitishness-without-the-Judaism, or keep-the-divine-election-but-get-rid-of-the-Torah. Isn't that just yet another form of practi...

I personally believe that the Rabbis still sit in the Chair of Moses and have Mosaic authority in regard to the Torah revealed to Moses at Sinai. I believe in both the written and the oral Torah given to Moses as God given and inspired. Many other Hebrew Catholics would totally disagree with me. So...
