Re: Is Santa Jewish?
An interesting insight. Here in australia we traditionally called him Father Christmas but due to American influence via TV the younger generation call him Santa Claus. By the way Jews , Christians and Muslim are all the spiritual sons of Abraham.

Thanks Bonnie for your support. I hope the rally went well. I was living in Washington DC last year but I am back in Australia now. Let us know how it went.

Re: Kairos Document
Well it is pretty deceptive the way it was presented. Looking at it again I see that the paragraph above the Kairos document is more moderate and the one signed by the leaders of most of the churches. The actual kairos document which is terrible is the one signed by Sabbah and some of the lower cler...

Re: Kairos Document
Absolutely disgusted with this document. It is not the domain of the clergy to be so publically partisan in politics- that is for the laity to be involved in. It is time these clergy concentrated on the spiritual mission of the church and left the politics to the laity. I personally know from my tim...

Re: Apostolic succession
I just wanted to add that many Jews and messianic Jews who have become Catholics did so because of the Eucharist. By this i mean they had a spiritual experience of the Real Presence in the Catholic church. this is why I became a Catholic and I know many other Jews that did also. The Catholic church ...

Re: Rabbinical Catholicism?
The Pope and the Vatican would most likely not impose from above a form of Jewish Catholicism but allow it to develop from the grassroots. They would make rulings if something was contentious or against Catholic teaching on Faith or morals. At the moment the issue of Jewish Catholics and Torah obser...

Re: Are passover Seders sinful
Ah the Council of Florence again. They love to bring that one up quoting only those things that suit them. One needs to carefully study the Bull that came out of this Council carefully as it is easy to read it wrong by not seeing that everything is stated is in the context of those keeping Jewish ri...

Re: Jews against Zionism
It is definitely not true that most Jews are anti-zionist. Even most Haredi Jews are not anti-Zionist- many support the State of Israel and are involved in its political system. As Gerat points out what religious jews are opposed to is a purely secular Zionist destiny for Israel they are praying and...

Re: "Like" One Under the Law
Dr. Feingold's opinion is pretty much the standard one of traditional Catholic theology. In my opinion it sounds convincing mostly because that it is familiar and we are not used to thinking outside this box. But where do the Scriptures ever make a distinction between the natural law/10 commandment...

Re: Statues & Veneration of Mary
Well I can only speak for myself someone who is Jewish and Catholic. I have no problems with stroking the statues of Mary and the saints and kissing my hand (or kissing the crucifix on Good friday and the baby Jesus statue on Christmas). afterall I have no problem with stroking and kissing the mezuz...
