Re: Jews against Zionism

It is a mistake to think that anti-Semitism is racism. Anti-Semitism in all its forms stems from anti-Judaism. To say that the church fathers were merely anti-Judaism is only to beg the question.

The best book to read on this subject is WHY THE JEWS? by Dennis Prager.

Re: Jews against Zionism

Let's talk about this. There are two sets of Jews that are opposed to the Secular Jewish State of Israel. The first are the Ultra Orthodox, which make up a very, very tiny portion of the Orthodox. They cannot rightly be called anti-Zionist because in fact they are very much in favor of Jews returnin...

Re: Statues & Veneration of Mary

There is something missing from the poll. Yes its kind of an all of the above, but something else needs to be acknowledged. It has to do with why a Jew who is a Christian chooses to be Messianic in the first place instead of being simply part of a protestant church. After all, most protestant church...

Just wanting to clarify what you are saying here... Are you telling us that if a Jew were baptized, accepting Jesus Christ as the divine Son of G-d and embracing the idea of a New Convenant AND he remained observant, he would not be lost to Israel and there would be no cause for strain on his relat...

I first met Orthodox Jews when I was thirty, and subsequently began studying Judaism in depth. It began a 15 year long push-me pull-you that was very difficult for me. After all, one does not really need to become a Jew, and I couldn't articulate what it was that kept bringing me back, even though I...

What do you really expect the reaction to be? For a Jew to become a Catholic, he is essentially becoming part of a community that is going to turn him into a gentile, for all practical purposes. Come on, I hung out in the Hebrew Catholic forum long enough to know that there was exactly two Jews that...

Yes, I would generally tend to agree with Athol, though I might formulate it a bit differently. I do believe that one of the main reasons for the 'failure' of the Church to bring Christ to the Jewish people was that this would have caused their assimilation and practical dissolution of their Jewish...

It is more than simply going to a synagogue for Purim or Hanukah. It means accepting Rabbinical interpretations of the Law with regards to how to observe Shabbat, how to keep kosher, how to observe family purity, and all the holy days and fast days. For example, scripture says we are not to kindle a...

There is NO SUCH THING as merely Mosaic Judaism, because Torah contains in Deuteronomy 17 the prescription for going to the Torah teachers for resolution. 8 If cases come before your courts that are too difficult for you to judge—whether bloodshed, lawsuits or assaults—take them to the place the LOR...

Does G-d change?

G-d is not some petulant pagan god that acts one way yesterday and another way today. Seasons come and go and tides rise and fall, but G-d does not change. He does not break his promises and covenants. When He says forever, He means forever. A Jew is a Jew is a Jew is a Jew is a Jew is a Jew. They c...

King David wrote: The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduri...

Just a bit of explanation on the background of Jewish law: Deuteronomy 17 8 If cases come before your courts that are too difficult for you to judge—whether bloodshed, lawsuits or assaults—take them to the place the LORD your God will choose. 9 Go to the priests, who are Levites, and to the judge wh...

Yes, we Jews do indeed believe in transmigration of the soul after a period of time in Gehenna (Purgatory). We do not believe we enter the World to Come until after the Resurrection. You actually do have evidence of this in your own gospels, where everyone is looking for the latest incarnation of El...
